On arrival at *Phalaborwa Airport clients will be met by our guides and after a short briefing, we will enter the Kruger National Park and kick off with an Afternoon Game Drive in the comfort of our Open Safari Vehicles. Don’t forget to visit the Goldfield’s Environmental Centre where the “Magnificent Seven” is remembered by their huge tusks which are on display. We will overnight in Letaba Rest Camp where a privately catered Barbeque will be expertly prepared by our team. Clients will also be briefed on the program ahead and afterwards get a good nights rest in the comfortable air-conditioned Bungalows with en suite bathroom. |
We will start the day by having coffee with rusks and then depart on the first Early Morning Game Drive on our Open Safari Vehicles. The area is predominantly Mopani veld which yields the famous Mopani worm sought after by the locals as a delicacy. The Letaba River provides the area with the most vital element for survival, namely water. We’ll continue our search for animals after Breakfast as the sun rises higher above the African sky. The diversity of the Kruger National Park is evident as we discover a wide variety of animals and before the day ends we’ll check in at our next overnight spot, Shingwedzi. Dinner is served before we call it a night. |
Overnight, dinner, bed & breakfast at Olifants Camp. |
By now you will be accustomed to the different smells, sounds and sights that is part of the Open Vehicle Safari experience. Sit back and relax as our guides share with you their intimate knowledge of the bush and the animals. The Olifants Camp region is teeming with Elephants and other wildlife is in abundance such as Impala, Waterbuck, Duiker, Kudu, and Steenbok (if you can spot it). This is Big Five Country (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion & Leopard) and if you are lucky, you would have seen all of them by now. The leopard is the most elusive and is quite difficult to spot with its beautiful rosette pattern. Back at Olifants Camp our guides point out the most important Celestial bodies visible in the night sky and discuss the days sightings over dinner and a glass of wine. |
After Breakfast, we’ll make our way further south towards Skukuza which is also the Main Camp & Headquarters of the Kruger National Park. We will travel through several different Ecozones, from the dense bush savannah to open tree savannas and therefore we see changing flora as we move closer to Skukuza. Visit the most Southern Boabab tree in Kruger situated a few kilometres before Tshokwane. At Skukuza one can visit the Stephenson-Hamilton Library, the Campbell & Selati Museums and many other interesting places in the Camp. Our last evening in the bush will be well remembered as our team prepares a feast – a traditional braai under the night sky. |
We will depart from Skukuza after breakfast and bid farewell to Kruger National park and all its’ inhabitants, big & small. This is your last opportunity to spot the all elusive Leopard as only 10% of the Parks’ visitors get to see this magnificent animal. We will depart Kruger National Park and you will be transferred to the **Kruger Mpumalanga international Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. |
